Facilities

Located at no. 95A-B, Av. do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, formerly a residence for civil servants, the building of The House of Macao Literature was constructed in the 1920s, and is now part of the “no. 89-95G, Av. do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida” ensemble which is among the Classified Immovable Properties in Macao. The building consists of seven townhouses in a consistent style.
The House of Macao Literature ,of a typical Portuguese residential style, occupies a two-storey building with a front garden and a balcony on the second floor, featuring yellow exteriors and burgundy moldings. On the façade, there is an ornate arcade in the Tuscan order and the Corinthian order, boasting elements of elegance and subtlety throughout its arches, keystones, and patterns.

 

The venue has the following facilities.

 

Exhibition Room

Permanent exhibition shall display valuable pictures, videos, manuscripts, books, journals, and literary materials in close ties with Macao literature.

 

Reading Room
A variety of literary works and selected books are available in the reading room. Visitors can enjoy the books amid an atmosphere conducive to reading, while the children’s publications and picture books make the enjoyable reading space even more family-friendly. The multimedia play zone allows both adults and children to gain a better understanding of the history and development of Macao literature by way of interactive games.

 

Multifunction Rooms
The two multifunction rooms on Level 2 are suitable for small exhibitions, lectures, movies and other purposes. 

               

 

Inner and Outer Gardens
The inner and outer gardens are open to the public.
