Opening Hours

10:00-18:00. Last admission no later than 17:30. Closed on Monday. Open on public holidays.

 

Visitor Guidelines

1. Free admission.

2. The reception desk is open for enquiries.

3. Do not make noise, run or play around in the venue. Do not enter restricted areas. Dangerous items are not allowed. 

4. No smoking, chewing gum or pets (except guide dogs) are allowed.

5. Photography and video shooting for personal use are allowed in the public area during the opening hours.

6. Do not use flash, fill light equipment, tripods or selfie sticks. Photography and video shooting for commercial or other special purposes are subject to the advance approval of the Cultural Affairs Bureau. 

7. Please abide by the laws on portrait rights and privacy rights.

8. The House of Macao Literature reserves the right to the final interpretation of these rules and to the final decision in the event of any dispute.

 

Getting Here

By taxi or by bus No. 2, 2A, 5, 7, 8, 9, 9A, 12, 16, 16S, 22, 25, 25B, 28C or N2.

 

Nursing Room

Adjacent to the reading room, the nursing room is equipped with diaper changing station, and wash basin, providing a private space for women to express breast milk and breastfeed their babies. 

 

Barrier-Free Access

1. Access is barrier-free through the adjacent entrance to the Jao Tsung-I Academy.

2. For any assistance, please turn to our security staff or call our reception at 853- 2872 8205.

3. Accessible restroom is available in the venue.

 

Arrangement for opening hours under special weather conditions

When Tropical Cyclone (Typhoon) strikes

Arrangement for opening hours while Tropical Cyclone Warning is in force

1. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted before 9am, all venues will be closed.

2. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted during opening hours, all venues will immediately be closed.

After Tropical Cyclone has passed

1. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is lowered before 7:30am, all venues will be open to public during normal opening hours.

2. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is lowered between 7:30am and 9am, all venues will be open to public one and a half hour after the Typhoon Warning Signal is lowered.

3. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is lowered between 9am to 1pm, all venues will be open to public at 2:30pm.

4. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is lowered between 1pm and 2:30pm, all venues will be open to public one and a half hour after the Typhoon Warning Signal is lowered.

5. In case Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is lowered after 2:30pm, all venues will however remain closed in the afternoon.
